Downloads

Here you will find the latest DPAA® release download.  The latest release includes all prior version changes and patches.  The download is the same for both the community edition and the enterprise edition.  The license(s) you receive determine your eligibility for Community or Enterprise edition features and support.

Though we suggest you always update to the latest release, please note our versioning is by date.    Please review the release notes to see all the changes in this version, and watch the video to see what's new within new feature (NF) or enhanced (ER) releases.  We don't always release videos for ER releases, but if the difference involves usability or outcomes, we likely will.

New users should refer to the system recommendations and installation steps noted below.

If you are an existing user, please follow the process on how to upgrade below.

Please use the Contact Us page to schedule a demo, a Zoom learning session, or to obtain your license.  Make sure to indicate if you are requesting a "Community Edition" or "Enterprise Edition" license.

Please note, this is the only official download site.  Do not trust a DPAA® download from anywhere else.

Managing Appliances

The way DPAA® manages appliances is essential to your success.

SYSTEM RECOMMENDATIONS

System Requirements

A system with at least:

  •  A 4 core processor (with hyper-threading recommended).
  • 4GB Ram (8GB recommended) with available RAM to dedicate 2GB or more for DPAA®.
  • HD screen (Full HD or at least a Full HD attached monitor) (4K is OK).
  • 50mbs or better network connection (up and down) between the client machine and the DataPower appliances.

Java

You must have at least Open JDK (or JRE) or Oracle JRE 19 or above.

Installation Steps

  • Go to the Contact Us Page the request a license.   Make sure to include your email address, as that is the manner in which we will send your license.
  • You will receive a "License.txt" file attached to an email.
    • Keep a copy of this file in a safe place.
    • Do not rename the file.
    • It must be named "License.txt" to be valid.
  • Put the downloaded ZIP file and the "License.txt" file in an isolated directory.
  • Extract the contents of the ZIP file.
    • Depending on your OS, the extract might have created a directory or it might have extracted directly.
    • Either way, once extracted, you should see five things:
      • A "configs" directory, which will initially be empty.
      • The DPAA.jar file
      • RunDPAA.cmd - Run DPAA® on Windows systems.
      • RunDPAA.command - Run DPAA® on Macintosh Systems.
      • RunDPAA.sh - Run DPAA® on Linux Desktop Systems.
  •  Copy or move the "License.txt" file into the "configs" directory.
    • Do not rename the "License.txt" file.
    • The "License.txt" file must be located within the "configs" directory located within the extract location.
  • Select the "RunDPAA" file matching your operating system.

Initial Setup

  • The logon screen:
    • Create a unique username and password.
    • Verify the password
      • NOTE:  There is no back door.

    • ALSO NOTE:
      • The username and password for accessing DPAA® is not and should not be used for accessing the appliances.
      • This information is used to protect the appliance information, including the credentials used to access them.
    • Review the software license.
    • Accept the software license.
    • Select "Setup"
  • On your first time in, you will be directed to set up at least one appliance.

It is highly advised to schedule a technical support session with Kumba Software LLC to interactively help you get started.

We also highly suggest you watch the "Getting Started" and the "Managing Appliances" video tutorials.  Once you are set up, please review the tutorial videos located within our Features & Tutorial page.

What's New!

What's New in DPAA® 2023-02-28

In this latest release, you can now update certificate, key, keytab, and shared secret key files from various sources right from the object menu.   When editing complex objects, feel free to synchronize object references across as many objects as needed!

What's New in DPAA® 2023-01-31

Updating a crypto identification credential just got much, much easier.  With DPAA®, you can source the certificate and key together or separately from on-board files, external files, or from a URL, and control the name of the file on the box!  We also improved a couple of things about packet captures, enabling more control over starting and stopping captures, and the ability to view all captures on the appliance, regardless of whether you generated them.

SIMPLE VERSIONING THE WAY IT SHOULD BE

DPAA® is versioned by date.

KumbaSoft's® versioning is simple and straightforward.  We simply version by the date of the latest release.   This lets you know right away how old your version may be.  It also means there is only one download at any given time.

We typically put out new versions on a monthly basis.  Check out the release notes for what is in the latest download.

NF Releases contain new features and are generally accompanied by videos explaining how to use them.    This makes it easy to learn the new features all in one place.

ER Releases contain enhancements to existing features.  If the enhancements are significant, they will be accompanied by a video.

IR Releases contain minor updates and fixes.

SB Releases are special builds accessible only from a designated private page.
